Volleyball Recap: Homestead Takes a Loss

If Homestead was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Monta Vista two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs fell 3-1 to the Los Gatos Wildcats on Monday. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Homestead started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-19, 25-13, 25-23.

Homestead's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Los Gatos, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Homestead and Los Gatos will both be playing Monta Vista the next time they take the court. The Mustangs will host the Matadors at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Wildcats will head out to face them at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
