Volleyball Recap: Agawam Takes a Loss

Agawam lost against Baystate Academy back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Brownies fell just short of Baystate Academy by a score of 3-2. The Brownies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Agawam started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 17-25, 25-20, 25-20, 15-11.

Hannah Jock paced Agawam's offense, picking up 17 kills. Jock were helped by Toni Vassallo and Sophia Laprise, who contributed 20 assists each. Vassallo was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Agawam's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Baystate Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.

Looking ahead, Agawam will be playing at home against East Longmeadow at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Baystate Academy, they will face off against Central at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
