Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph Academy Comes Up Short

St. Joseph Academy lost against St. Augustine back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Flashes came up short against the Yellow Jackets, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Flashes have suffered since September 10, 2024.

While St. Joseph Academy ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-23, 25-23.

Despite the loss, St. Joseph Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Addy Mira had 11 digs.

St. Joseph Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for St. Augustine, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

St. Joseph Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Peniel Baptist Academy on the 28th. After both having extra time off, St. Augustine and Fletcher will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 3rd.
