Softball Recap: West County Comes Up Short

West County entered their match against Central on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 8-7. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their loss to the Rebels from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Maylee Merrill made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lacey LaMarr, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

West County is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-4. As for Central, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Coincidentally, West County and Central will both be playing Scott City the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will host the Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Rebels will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
