Baseball Recap: Rudder Comes Up Short

Rudder was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 8-3 to the Lake Creek Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 last Tuesday.

Aiden Gray made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Rudder is 4-2 when Gray posts two or more runs, but 7-8-2 otherwise. Jose Ponce also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Rudder's loss dropped their record down to 11-10-2. As for Lake Creek, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-6-1.

Coincidentally, Rudder and Lake Creek will both be playing College Station the next time they take the field. The Rangers will head out to face the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Lions will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
