Basketball Recap: Matthias Howard's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Roseville over River Valley

Roseville was the 81-70 winner over River Valley when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Roseville Tigers fell just short of the River Valley Falcons by a score of 62-59 on Wednesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (58), the Tigers still had to take the loss.

Roseville's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matthias Howard, who went 8-for-14 en route to 17 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Ren Marsh, who posted 12 points and four steals.

River Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Yuvraj Dosanjh, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. Gurtaran Sanghu was another key player, going 5-for-8 on his way to 14 points and six boards.

Roseville has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season. As for River Valley, their record is now 10-12.

Roseville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 77-44 victory against Del Campo on the 7th. As for River Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-46 defeat against Yuba City on the 7th.
