Baseball Game Preview: Shepherd Pirates vs. Hargrave Falcons

For the second straight game, Shepherd will face off against Hargrave. The Pirates will face off against the Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Shepherd has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with eight straight defeats, while Hargrave will come in with three straight victories.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Shepherd's offense. They lost 13-0 to Hargrave on Tuesday.

For Hargrave's part, they got a massive performance out of John Dolan, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That's the most runs Dolan has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Bryce Nixon, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Hargrave always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive contests.

Shepherd's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Hargrave, their win bumped their record up to 17-8-2.
