In this week's power ranking report, we saw one team go soaring up and another team come crashing down -- along with everything in between. We'll dive into that and more in this week's report.
Banging Down the Door
Delsea was the better team in every quarter against Woodrow Wilson last week and consequently the better team overall. Delsea blew past Woodrow Wilson 43 - 12. Woodrow Wilson had come in flaunting an aggressive defense allowing an average of only ten points per game, but that obviously didn't scare off Delsea. Thanks to its success, Delsea cracked into the power rankings and now occupies the 25th spot.
Points Galore
It was another game, another high-octane performance for Bethlehem Catholic last week (their 3rd in a row). It can thank its lucky stars for its win over Allentown Central Catholic. The final score was a hard-fought 38 - 37. Bethlehem Catholic was the clear favorite in this matchup, so the near-loss was an unusual surpise. The combined 75 points was the most of any game featuring a power-ranked team.
This Week's Top Game
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Archbishop Wood (3rd in the power rankings) and La Salle College (6th). Archbishop Wood was able to grind out a solid victory over La Salle College, winning 31 - 17. Even if it didn't bump Archbishop Wood up the rankings, the triumph at least kept team from dropping.
