Volleyball Recap: Glenn Takes a Loss

Glenn lost against Westlake back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Grizzlies fell 2-0 to the Chaparrals. The Grizzlies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Glenn was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-22.

Their offense was headlined by Mia Brandl and Leticia Flores, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Grace Phelan and her eight assists.

Westlake found their leader in sophomore Kyrksen Cook, who had four digs and three aces. Cook is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Glenn's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Westlake, they pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Glenn wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Prestonwood Christian on the 28th. As for Westlake, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Lake Creek on the 28th.
