Basketball Recap: Central Valley Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

On Saturday, the Central Valley Bears beat the Southridge Suns 74-61. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Suns are ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Central Valley's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-10. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points over those games. As for Southridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

As of now, neither Central Valley nor Southridge have any future games scheduled.
