Football Recap: Ingleside Takes a Loss

Ingleside had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-8 to make it five. They were outmatched by the Cuero Gobblers and fell 70-20. The Mustangs lost against the Gobblers in their previous head to head back in November of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 40-14 score last time.

Ingleside's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Younk, who threw for 267 yards and three TDs. Jayden Techur was in the mix too, providing the Mustangs with two touchdowns.

As for Cuero, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Cuero's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Walker Dietze led the charge by picking up 238 receiving yards and three scores. Dietze's receiving production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 100 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Jaxxon Marie, who threw for 273 yards and four TDs while completing 75% of his passes.

Ingleside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cuero, they will host Robstown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
