Softball Game Preview: Northern Guilford Nighthawks vs. West Forsyth Titans

The Northern Guilford Nighthawks will square off against the West Forsyth Titans on Tuesday. Northern Guilford will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.

Northern Guilford is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Marvin Ridge, sneaking past 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Nighthawks have posted since March 12th.

Dakotah Wilkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and three unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Asyah Smith was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Morgan Headen was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, West Forsyth earned a 10-7 victory over South Iredell on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Titans.

Northern Guilford pushed their record up to 23-4 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for West Forsyth, their win bumped their record up to 25-2.
