Basketball Game Preview: Calvary Chapel Christian Academy Archangels vs. Vanguard Christian Knights

Having just played yesterday, the Calvary Chapel Christian Academy Archangels will head out on the road to face off against the Vanguard Christian Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Thursday, Calvary Chapel Christian Academy lost to Sunnybrook Christian at home by a 51-32 margin. The Archangels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Vanguard Christian posted their biggest victory since December 15, 2023 on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat New Covenant Christian 63-10.

Vanguard Christian's win came from a few key players Calvary Chapel Christian Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was David McDonald, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Postell, who posted eight points and eight rebounds.

Vanguard Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 36 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.

Calvary Chapel Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Vanguard Christian, their record is now 17-4.

Calvary Chapel Christian Academy couldn't quite finish off Vanguard Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 and fell 46-43. Can Calvary Chapel Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
