Football Game Preview: Simeon Wolverines vs. Morgan Park Mustangs + Official Tickets

The Simeon Wolverines are taking a road trip to challenge the Morgan Park Mustangs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Simeon's defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so Morgan Park's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Morgan Park will be up against a hot Simeon team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Wolverines' defense stepped up to hand Phillips a 34-0 shutout on Saturday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Morgan Park's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 29-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kenwood. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Broncos 8-0 in the first quarter.

Simeon will need to focus on slowing down Reggie Gray Jr, one of several Morgan Park players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 66 yards and a pair of scores. Morgan Park also got help from Nasir Rankin, who showed off his sure hands for 125 receiving yards.

Even if they lost, Morgan Park's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Morgan Park's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Simeon, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-3.

Simeon was taken down by Morgan Park 42-6 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Wolverines were down 20-0.
