Basketball Game Preview: Carrollton Warriors vs. Hoover Vikings

The Carrollton Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Hoover Vikings at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Monday, Carrollton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-47 to Strasburg-Franklin.

Meanwhile, Hoover won against GlenOak on Wednesday with 44 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Hoover walked away with a 44-35 win over Lake. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Blue Streaks are ranked 300th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hoover pushed their record up to 12-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Carrollton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-6 record this season.

Carrollton strolled past Hoover in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 53-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carrollton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
