Preview: Starmount Rams vs. Wilkes Central Eagles
Starmount and Wilkes Central are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The Starmount Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Wilkes Central Eagles at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Starmount focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
Starmount gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener. They came out on top in a nail-biter against West Wilkes and snuck past 45-42.
Jadon Hurt-bailey and Jordon Dobson were among the main playmakers for Starmount as the former scored 12 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals and the latter scored 22 points. Another player making a difference was Colton Allen, who scored 6 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, even though West Iredell scored an imposing 61 points on Tuesday, Wilkes Central still came out on top. Wilkes Central took their matchup against West Iredell 71-61. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wilkes Central.
Starmount's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Wilkes Central, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
Starmount beat Wilkes Central 63-52 in their previous matchup back in January. Does Starmount have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wilkes Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
