Baseball Recap: Prospect Comes Up Short

Prospect was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 9-5 to the Ann Sobrato Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 on Wednesday.

Alex Hand and Henry Little stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hand got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while Little went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run. Hand is becoming a predictor of Prospect's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 5-15 when he doesn't).

Prospect's loss dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Ann Sobrato, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Prospect will square off against rival Evergreen Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Ann Sobrato is set to face off against their familiar foe Gilroy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
