Volleyball Game Preview: Corona Panthers vs. Centennial Huskies

Corona is 0-8 against Centennial since April of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Corona Panthers will square off against the Centennial Huskies at 5:45 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Corona is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to Santiago.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-11, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Centennial didn't have quite enough to beat Roosevelt on Thursday and fell 3-2. The Huskies haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Centennial wouldn't go down easily and took Roosevelt into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-19, 25-23, 21-25, 15-8.

Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Corona, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.

Corona suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Centennial when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Corona avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
