Paint Valley and Westfall are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Bearcats will square off against the Mustangs at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Monday just wasn't the day for Paint Valley's offense. They fell 3-0 to Unioto on Monday.

Meanwhile, Westfall strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over Huntington. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted against the Huntsmen since April 22, 2019.

Westfall's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mason Wright, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another was Cory Green, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Paint Valley skirted past Westfall 7-5 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Bearcats repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
