Basketball Recap: Tampa Catholic Comes Up Short

On Friday, the Tampa Catholic Crusaders came up short against the Lake Highland Prep Highlanders and fell 45-33. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lake Highland Prep was led to victory by Eryn Griffin and Ari Woodard. Griffin almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds, while Woodard posted 16 points and seven boards. That's the most points Woodard has posted since back in February of 2024. Valeria Munoz was another key player, putting up five points.

Tampa Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Lake Highland Prep, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Tampa Catholic and Lake Highland Prep should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Tampa Catholic (ranked 69th) will meet Winthrop College Prep Academy (ranked 464th) on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lake Highland Prep will take on McKeel Academy on Thursday up 289 places (74 vs. 363).
