Basketball Recap: Hempstead Comes Up Short

Hempstead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 68-63 heartbreaker at the hands of the Van Vleck Leopards. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (55), the Bobcats still had to take the loss.

Hempstead's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Van Vleck, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-18.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Hempstead will challenge rival East Bernard at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Van Vleck is set to face off against their familiar foe Hitchcock at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
