Softball Recap: Jasper Wildcats vs. Evansville Mater Dei Wildcats
After flying high against Evansville Central on Monday, Jasper came back down to earth. Jasper fell just short of Evansville Mater Dei by a score of 8-6 on Tuesday. Jasper has struggled against Evansville Mater Dei recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Katelyn Young was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Kate Eckerle was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Sofia Aguilera also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
