Basketball Recap: McKeel Academy Comes Up Short

McKeel Academy was the 52-42 winner over Ridge Community when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The McKeel Academy Wildcats took a 47-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ridge Community Bolts.

Leading Ridge Community to victory were Eugene Daniels and Elijah Louis. Daniels dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 boards, while Louis went 6 of 8 on his way to 18 points. Those 18 points gave Louis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Keymari Coates, who posted four points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

McKeel Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Ridge Community, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

McKeel Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-28 defeat against Auburndale on the 10th. As for Ridge Community, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 54-44 victory against Haines City on the 9th.
