Softball Recap: Kankakee Valley Comes Up Short

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Kankakee Valley and Lowell have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. The Kougars fell 5-1 to the Red Devils. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Kougars of the 10-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Kankakee Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Catalina Veach, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That double was Veach's first of the season.

Kankakee Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Lowell, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-4.

While Kankakee Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
