Basketball Recap: East Poinsett County Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

East Poinsett County entered their tilt with Bay on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They enjoyed a cozy 79-62 victory over the Bay Yellowjackets. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 52-40 back in December of 2024.

East Poinsett County was led to victory by Tyrus Reel and Jacob Gaines. Reel went 11 of 12 on his way to 32 points, while Gaines almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine rebounds. The match was Gaines' third in a row with at least ten points. Quincy Perry was another key player, putting up ten points and six boards.

East Poinsett County's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Bay, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.

East Poinsett County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 50-49 loss against Osceola on the 18th. Bay has also already played their next contest, a 70-54 victory against Marmaduke on the 20th.
