Recap: Legacy Lightning vs. Horizon Hawks
The Legacy Lightning had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.4 points), and they went ahead and made it 11 on Friday. They snuck past Horizon with a 63-58 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Legacy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joey Delescinskis, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Delescinskis hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaedon Ward, who scored 17 points.
Horizon lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kaden Northrup, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Brady Greene was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Horizon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Legacy only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Legacy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Horizon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Legacy will take on Fort Collins at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Horizon, they will be playing at home against Poudre at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Poudre will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Horizon is ranked 78th).
