Softball Recap: Kingsburg's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

Kingsburg dropped their record down to 11-12 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Immanuel Eagles by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Vikings have suffered since March 28th.

Kingsburg saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Averie Croissant, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Parker Woods also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

As for Immanuel, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5-2. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12 runs.

On Immanuel's side, Amanda Herrera spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. Herrera has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Natalia Delgadillo, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kingsburg will face off against Hanford West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Huskies will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. As for Immanuel, they will take on Sierra Pacific at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Bears have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
