Baseball Recap: Thomasville Takes a Loss

After a string of three wins, Thomasville's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the East Davidson Golden Eagles by a score of 5-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 5-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Mkyel Duncan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Thomasville's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 4-1 (and 5-9 when he doesn't). Elijah McNeair was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Thomasville now has a losing record of 9-10. As for East Davidson, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6.

While Thomasville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
