Softball Recap: Ore City Comes Up Short

Ore City blew Union Grove out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Union Grove got their revenge. The Rebels fell just short of the Lions by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Rebels have suffered since February 16, 2024.

Brooke Byrd was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-5. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kayla Peckham, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Ore City's loss dropped their record down to 7-16-1. As for Union Grove, their record is now 12-8.

While Ore City had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
