Recap: Sneads Pirates vs. Blountstown Tigers
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Sneads Pirates can now relate to. They were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 7-6 to the Tigers. Despite 173 more yards than Blountstown, Sneads couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Despite the loss, Sneads still got an impressive performance from Kurdiss Baker, who rushed for 105 yards. Baker's longest rush was for an incredible 87 yards.
Among those leading the charge was Amarion Hover, who rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown.
Sneads' loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.4 points per game. As for Blountstown, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Sneads does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Blountstown will be playing at home against Port St. Joe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
