Basketball Game Preview: Watkins Memorial Warriors vs. Zanesville Blue Devils

Watkins Memorial has gone 8-2 against Zanesville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Watkins Memorial Warriors will be playing at home against the Zanesville Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m.

Watkins Memorial is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell to Utica 55-49.

Defeat or not, Watkins Memorial got some senior leadership from Shelby Lott and Ella Perry. Lott went 8 for 18 on her way to 22 points, while Perry dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lott has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamryn Caldwell, who posted five points.

Meanwhile, Zanesville can finally bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-40 win over Heath.

Zanesville's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Watkins Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Watkins Memorial barely slipped by Zanesville in their previous meeting back in January, winning 32-31. Will Watkins Memorial repeat their success, or does Zanesville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
