Volleyball Recap: Bartlett Yancey Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Bartlett Yancey couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Ayden - Grifton Chargers on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Buccaneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2021.

Despite the loss, Bartlett Yancey still got an impressive performance from Lyndsey Smithers, who had eight assists and four digs.

Bartlett Yancey's loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Ayden - Grifton, they are on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 21 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season.

Bartlett Yancey does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ayden - Grifton, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Wake Prep Academy on the 25th.
