Basketball Recap: Mt. Vernon Comes Up Short on the Road Against George C. Marshall

Mt. Vernon had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 52-38 bruising from the George C. Marshall Statesmen.

George C. Marshall pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Mt. Vernon will head out on the road to challenge Vermillion at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. George C. Marshall and Yorktown will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Yorktown will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something George C. Marshall surely won't give up without a fight.
