Volleyball Recap: Columbus' Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

It was a proper cat-fight when Columbus duked it out with Burton on Friday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1. The match marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Columbus actually scored more points across those three sets (64-62), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 12-25, 25-19, 25-20.

Having lost for the first time this season, Columbus fell to 6-1. As for Burton, their victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Columbus will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Joseph at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Burton, they will square off against Fayetteville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
