Basketball Game Preview: Pinson Valley Indians vs. Minor Tigers

The Pinson Valley Indians will take on the Minor Tigers in a tournament on Monday. Pinson Valley has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.

Pinson Valley is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest loss since January 23, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Clay-Chalkville by a score of 55-53. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Minor had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 points) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Friday. They snuck past the Patriots with a 62-57 win.

Minor is also on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Pinson Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.

Everything went Pinson Valley's way against Minor when the teams last played back in November of 2020, as Pinson Valley made off with a 60-36 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pinson Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
