Baseball Game Preview: Brentwood War Eagles vs. Edmund Burke Academy Spartans

Brentwood hasn't had much luck against Edmund Burke Academy recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Brentwood War Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Edmund Burke Academy Spartans at 4:30 p.m. Brentwood is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.

While Brentwood didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Windsor Academy with a sharp 11-1 victory on Friday. The win continues a trend for the War Eagles in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won eight in a row.

Riley Helton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Helton was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Brentwood, their record now sits at 6-2.
