Recap: Middle Creek Mustangs vs. South Garner Titans
It was a good run, but the Middle Creek Mustangs unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 49-38 to South Garner. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Middle Creek has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Middle Creek still got an impressive performance from Obataobie Okafor, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Okafor scored 15 or more points. Greyson Land was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Middle Creek struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
South Garner's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Loddie Leach led the charge by scoring 14 points along with five rebounds. Leach continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Najai Hines, who scored 11 points.
