Recap: Legacy Charter Eagles vs. Trinity Prep Saints
The Legacy Charter Eagles came into Wednesday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They enjoyed a cozy 40-21 win over Trinity Prep on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Legacy Charter also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2018.
Legacy Charter got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mallory Daniels out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. Daniels is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Ashlyn Kraus was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Legacy Charter's win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-10. As for Trinity Prep, they dropped their record down to 6-12 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Legacy Charter will take on Apopka Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Legacy Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Wednesday. As for Trinity Prep, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bishop Moore at 5:15 p.m. on January 25th. Trinity Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 473rd, while Bishop Moore is ranked 96th).
