Mansfield Summit's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 39-29 win over the Mansfield Timberview Wolves. The victory continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won three in a row.

It was another big night for Ian Gebhardt, who rushed for 214 yards and a pair of scores on only 14 carries. Omogbolahan Daudu was in the mix too, providing Mansfield Summit with two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mansfield Summit was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 408 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mansfield Timberview only rushed for 68.

Mansfield Summit's defense stepped up as well, laying out Steven Hall three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Aamir Bell, Cameron Hall, and Markell Allen, who each picked up one sack apiece. Mansfield Summit got some further help from Bell: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made four total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Mansfield Timberview's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cedric Portley, who rushed for nine yards and three TDs. The team also got some help courtesy of Hall, who threw for 243 yards and one touchdown.

Mansfield Summit's record now sits at 5-1. As for Mansfield Timberview, they moved to 4-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Mansfield Summit will square off against Argyle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguars will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last five contests. As for Mansfield Timberview, they will face off against Burleson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
