Soccer Recap: Antioch Takes a Loss

Antioch lost against Liberty back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Antioch Panthers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Liberty Lions. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 852nd, while the Lions are ranked 202nd).

Antioch's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 1-1-1 and their overall record down to 2-7-3. As for Liberty, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-0-3.

Antioch will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Miramonte at 7:30 p.m. As for Liberty, they will challenge Deer Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Deer Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.5 goals per game this season.
