Basketball Game Preview: Chicago Marshall Commandos vs. Farragut Admirals

The Chicago Marshall Commandos will face off against the Farragut Admirals at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Chicago Marshall's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Chicago Marshall took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Tuesday. They breezed by Kelvyn Park to the tune of 74-26. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 54-16.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chicago Marshall to victory, but perhaps none more so than Darrin Laye, who went 6 of 10 en route to 15 points along with eight assists and five boards. The contest was Laye's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mykhai Meeks, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 13 points along with eight boards and four steals.

Meanwhile, Farragut was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 55-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Lawndale.

Chicago Marshall's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.9 points per game. As for Farragut, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Chicago Marshall came up short against Farragut when the teams last played back in January of 2022, falling 58-50. Can Chicago Marshall avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
