Baseball Recap: Floyd Takes a Loss

Floyd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Elida Tigers, falling 28-7. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent loss being a 7-2 defeat back in March.

Floyd saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daxton Kuchta, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that Kuchta hit this season. Adan Nieto was another, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Floyd's record now sits at 0-6. As for Elida, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Floyd will face off against Dora at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Broncos are facing the Coyotes at the right time seeing as the Coyotes are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Elida, they will challenge Melrose at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
