Baseball Game Preview: Jefferson Grizzlies vs. Priory Panthers

For the second straight game, Jefferson will face off against Priory. The Grizzlies will face off against the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Jefferson has struggled recently with 25 losses in a row, while Priory will arrive with three straight wins.

Priory hit Jefferson with a four-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Grizzlies lost 13-6 to the Panthers.

For Priory's part, Kai Park and Matthew Sun did most of the damage at the plate: Park got on base in five of his six plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Sun got on base in five of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Park is becoming a predictor of the Panthers' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 7-1 (and 3-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Lee, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Priory always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.

Priory's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-21.
