Basketball Recap: Alabama School for the Deaf Comes Up Short

Alabama School for the Deaf was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 66-42 to the Jacksonville Christian Academy Thunder. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thunder this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-30 back in November of 2024.

Leading Jacksonville Christian Academy to victory were Jesse Gannaway and Noah Lee. Gannaway went 9 for 22 to rack up 24 points and five steals, while Lee dropped a double-double with 19 points and 20 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Gannaway has scored at least a third of Jacksonville Christian Academy's points. Bryson Dowdey was another key player, putting up 12 points and four steals.

Alabama School for the Deaf's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Jacksonville Christian Academy, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5.

Alabama School for the Deaf wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 62-21 win against N.C. School for the Deaf on the 31st. As for Jacksonville Christian Academy, they have also already played their next game, an 83-72 victory against Wellborn on the 31st.
