Softball Recap: Canandaigua Academy Comes Up Short

The Canandaigua Academy Gray Wolves came up short against the Geneva Panthers on Wednesday and fell 9-4. The Gray Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sarah Goodsell was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Delilah Smith was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Canandaigua Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Geneva, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, Canandaigua Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Brockport at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Geneva, they are taking a road trip to challenge Midlakes at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Screaming Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.4 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
