Softball Recap: Nederland Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Nederland walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Weiss Wolves a 1-0 shutout on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-7 on Thursday.

The result came thanks to Morgan Barron's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Nederland is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-8 record this season. As for Weiss, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 21-13.

Looking ahead, Nederland will face off against Lake Creek on Saturday. The Lions will roll in looking for their 32nd straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. Weiss does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
