Ridgefield is 8-2 against Staples since February of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Ridgefield Tigers will square off against the Staples Wreckers at 5:30 p.m. Ridgefield is coming into the game hot, having won their last ten games.

Last Saturday, Ridgefield was able to grind out a solid victory over Stamford, taking the game 50-39.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Staples had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Cadets 62-60. The win almost wasn't to be: the Wreckers were down 41-26 in the second quarter.

Staples found their leader in sophomore Chloe Smith, who posted 23 points and eight boards. That's the most points Smith has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Freya Harvey, who had 11 points and five rebounds.

Staples smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive matchups.

Staples is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points over those games. Ridgefield pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Everything went Ridgefield's way against Staples in their previous meeting on Wednesday, as Ridgefield made off with a 58-38 win. Does Ridgefield have another victory up their sleeve, or will Staples turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
