Volleyball Recap: Pinelands Regional Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Madison

Pinelands Regional faced Madison in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Dodgers by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dodgers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Pinelands Regional started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-19, 25-21.

Quigley has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Madison Wilbert, who had ten kills, three digs, and two aces.

Pinelands Regional's loss dropped their record down to 17-1. As for Madison, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Pinelands Regional will venture away from home to square off against Wall Township at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Madison, they will host Academy of St. Elizabeth at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
