Softball Recap: Sweetwater Triumphs

It was a proper cat-fight when Sweetwater faced off against Meigs County on Friday. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Tigers 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since March 24th.

Sadie Scott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sarah Hutchison was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Sweetwater's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Meigs County, their loss dropped their record down to 16-15.

As of now, neither Sweetwater nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
