Baseball Recap: Mt. St. Michael Academy Takes a Loss

The matchup between Mt. St. Michael Academy and St. Raymond Boys on Monday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Mountaineers came up short against the Ravens, falling 15-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mountaineers have suffered since April 20, 2024.

Yanthony Diaz was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Mt. St. Michael Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for St. Raymond Boys, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Mt. St. Michael Academy will face off against St. Joseph-by-the-Sea at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Mountaineers surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Raymond Boys, they will challenge Salesian at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ravens are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
